Summer time is typically the time to prep the new academic year as guest lecturer at the various education institutes.  It’s also the time to reflect on the marketing & sales courses and to review some student feedback.  I am really happy to say that I regularly get the feedback from students and colleagues to be an appreciated lecturer in Marketing (Product Marketing & distribution marketing).  Moreover this position, as guest lecturer, allows me to combine my extensive professional experience with academic teaching.

More info on the (English) programme at VIVES (Kortrijk campus): Business Management – English Programme | Hogeschool VIVES

With over 20 years of experience as a Marketing Interim Manager/strategic consultant, I worked with a wide range of companies, helped them to navigate complex marketing challenges, commercial strategies and drive business growth. This hands-on experience in the field gives me a unique perspective, which I tend to bring into the classroom to enrich the learning experience for my students.  So that they are ready for the professional world out there.

Next to the marketing lecturer role at VIVES, I also serve as a guest lecturer at HO Gent in the “Sales Management” post graduate course (mentioned in the programme here Postgraduaat Salesmanagement – Hogeschool Gent (hogent.be) ).

Why lecture marketing to Professional Bachelor students?

My ability to bridge the gap between theory and practice makes me hopefully an invaluable resource for students who are eager to apply what they learn in real-world settings.  At VIVES, I apply my known, dynamic teaching style and I blend theoretical frameworks with practical applications (e.g “Marketing of the week” topics in my courses).  The courses are designed to equip students with a deep understanding of marketing principles and the latest trends & technologies shaping the industry.   There is a clear focus on interactive learning, case studies, and class discussion to ensure that students are not only prepared for academic success but also ready to tackle the challenges of the modern business world.  The goal is to encourage the students to think critically and creatively, fostering a learning environment that is both challenging and supportive.

Sometimes students contact me for support on their internship abroad (thanks to my international network), for discussing a potential business plan for their startup after their graduation, or for providing career advice that aligns with their individual goals.
